Efficiency and safety through labels

Sometimes little ideas like the following can have the biggest impact on your Technician’s productivity and in avoiding problems. That’s right, you guessed it, we need to “Make it easier to do it right than to do it wrong.” Applying this simple principle of simplicity can revolutionize your company. Here is a small example:

Label the top of the containers in your spotting kit so you can identify them without having to remove them from the kit. You can use a label machine (more professional) or an indelible marker. This will speed spotting and insure proper re-stocking of spotting chemicals.

I can even see how this idea could help you avoid a negative Moment of Truth. Think about it. The customer is watching as your tech pulls up one bottle after another from the spotting kit, searching and wasting time. Of course, in a perfect world the bottles would be in exactly the same order in the spotting kit and they wouldn’t need to be labeled. But we don’t live in a perfect world, do we?
