I’ve noticed that gas prices have started creeping up again. So don’t get complacent with the recent drop in gas costs. Here’s one idea I’ve started applying in my business. Especially if you do a considerable amount of highway driving, reduce your speed to 60 mph. The difference in time on the road is negligible over short distances and yet studies have shown that for each 5 miles per hour you drive over 60 mph is the equivalent of paying $0.20 more per gallon of gas. And of course using the cruise control and maintaining a steady speed will also help tremendously. (The last time Steve rode with me he said I have “sewing machine leg”- up and down on the speed.)
